Technical Cleanliness as a Key Requirement

In the production of precision components for injection systems, one factor is particularly crucial alongside dimensional and shape accuracy: the highest level of technical cleanliness. Even microscopic particles or burrs can impair the function of safety-relevant components. For this reason our customers’ cleanliness requirements are extremely strict. In a series production project for Woodward L’Orange, a typical challenge arose with a technical component: a fine residual burr at the junction of two internal bores. Such features often occur due to the process in geometrically hard-to-reach areas and pose a general risk to technical cleanliness – especially when they are not explicitly defined in the drawing.

Solution

mesa parts conducted a systematic analysis of the component and based on years of experience, developed a specially adapted machining process. This process was tested under series production conditions, validated together with the customer, and approved on short notice. The machined components were then delivered for series production without delay – with demonstrably improved technical cleanliness. This case highlights mesa parts’ particular strength: we identify potential risks early, think across processes, and offer practical solutions – fast, well-founded and always focused on quality and customer satisfaction.
