The production of the stainless-steel component made from hydrogen-resistant material 1.4404 involved high regulatory and logistical demands. Central to the project was compliance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), which required the appointment of a “Notified Body” – a TÜV-authorized expert responsible for the proper re-stamping of the material. In addition, strict requirements applied to quality assurance and documentation. At the same time, on-time delivery posed a particular challenge. Short-term additional demands and tight timeframes required maximum flexibility and precise coordination – without compromising material or process safety.
Implementation was carried out in close coordination with our customer – a well-established collaboration that proved especially effective under time pressure. This enabled us to reliably meet the required fast delivery times and respond flexibly to short-term needs. To ensure full traceability of each individual stainless steel component, a Data Matrix Code (DMC) was permanently and precisely laser-marked according to customer specifications. The entire production process was accompanied and monitored by the appointed Notified Body. Both a customer visit and a comprehensive production audit were successfully conducted. All regulatory requirements – especially those under the PED – were fully and verifiably met.
